Easy navigation
In order to facilitate navigation on the site, we have implemented the ability to surf the site by using keyboard shortcuts (AccessKey) which provide direct access to the main pages of the site. Below is a list of these shortcuts, which follow accessibility norms and standards. To activate these shortcuts, use the Shift + Alt + number key of the page you wish to access (listed below) and depending on your browser press Enter or not.
- 1 : home
- 2 : register
- 3 : sitemap
- 4 : what is the EStrat Challenge?
- 5 : FAQ
- 6 : prizes
- 7 : contact
- 8 : terms of use
- 9 : software & tips
- 0 : This page
A second element to increase the accessibility of the site has also been implemented : organizing the links of each page so that they are accessible immediately by using the Tab key. In order to activate these links, move the selector using the Tab key and validate by pressing Enter.
The entire site can also be navigated using the sitemap page (AccessKey : 3) and the Tab a minimum number of keys.
Using these different techniques, all pages of the site should be accessible with a minimum number of keyboard strokes.
Text size
The size of the text on the site can increased or decreased using the standard shortcut (Ctrl + mouse wheel or Ctrl + +)
Images
All images on the site have an alt attribute following the standards outlined by the WAI. For images which serve purely design purposes, the alt attribute has been left empty in order to avoid a surcharge on browsers not supporting images.
xHTML / CSS
The entire site has been developed following xHTML standards in version Strict 1.0 and using style sheets (CSS 2.0).
Javascript
Because of technical aspects of our hosting and development platform, team and member inscriptions must be done using a browser which supports Javascript.
